Scenario

Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at Bear Nursing Home. The Brown family embarks on an exciting adventure as a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. However, he pitched the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer.

I love Paddington 1 and 2

Paddington (2014) follows. I always knew that with a different director, a different setting and story and what not, the third film in the series would be unique. This film had three problems for me.

The first is the ugly script

I couldn’t connect with the film and the reason was the bad script. The charm of the franchise that was always visible and used in the first two is irrelevant. And because of the good feeling that you don’t feel, the lack of charm, it absolutely kills the film.

If you follow the franchise and have seen the first two, it’s different and unique but it’s worth watching

The third problem is the lack of character development, the way the characters were developed in the first and second films is brilliant and excellent and while it is difficult in this film it was still bad. The second film was the best, from Hugh Grant’s excellent acting to the good foreshadowing and character development, this film is nowhere near that level, not having Sally Hawkins in this film is a big loss, although Emily Mortimer does a good job in the role with what she has, she is sorely missed and could have made this film better. This film has some great moments, from the iconic look to the plot, I would say it has its good moments, I’m picking out the bad from this film, it’s still decent.

There are some beautiful sequences that will take your breath away

7.9/10 for me.
